The Capacity Building Seminar on Tourism between Africa and Europe co funded by the European Commission was recently held on the Island of Sao Vicente Mindelo Cape Verde, from the 11th to the 15th of January 2016.

The TBRIDGES project is a Tourism project between Africa and Europe – co-founded by the European Commission within the Erasmus + Program, Capacity Building on the field of youth.

The seminar which was hosted by the organization Atelier Mar was attended by the IYEC Director Madam Mercy Osei Owusu, Madam Joyce Okyere Boadi and Mr Terry kyei as well as representatives from Partner countries from Romania, Cape Verde, Italy and Greece .

 

 

At the meeting, the partners discussed and shared ideas about ways of promoting tourism between Africa and Europe. Various presentations were made by experts in the field of gastronomic tourism, web tourism, experiential tourism, cultural tourism and youth entrepreneurship. Other activities were also performed based in interaction and non-formal learning in the field of tourism.

On-site activities were also organized which included visits to 3 potential experiential activities for tourism proposals, group work on experiential tourism following the field visit, field visit to rural tourism projects in the island of Santo Antão, a music tour in the lab of Jao Batista and a food lab.

The final meeting of the project which would be hosted by IYEC Ghana would be held in Accra Ghana in September 2016.
